Spinal problems can be complex and patients are often unsure which specialist is most appropriate for their symptoms.
In most cases, your GP is the best person to help guide this decision. They can assess your symptoms, review any imaging and refer you to the specialist best suited to your needs.
If you have ongoing neck or back pain and are unsure whether surgery is required, an appointment with our Specialist Spine Physician may be appropriate. A Spine Physician is a medical specialist who focuses on the assessment, diagnosis and non-surgical management of spinal conditions using evidence-based approaches. They can also help coordinate referrals to other members of our multidisciplinary team or arrange a surgical opinion if required.
Patients may also be referred directly to our Specialist Spine Physiotherapist for assessment and management of appropriate conditions.
