This is a condition caused by continual compression of the spinal cord resulting in damage to it. Cervical myelopathy is not always accompanied by pain, but it commonly causes symptoms such as weakness and difficulty using hands, difficulty walking, and loss of control of the bowel and bladder.
These symptoms may get worse without treatment, and surgery is often recommended for patients with cervical myelopathy to prevent further neurological damage.
